LINDSAY TRIGAR

Founder and Physiotherapist

Lindsay commenced working at the Heart Beat Centre in 1977. It was Brisbane's first professionally run gym staffed by graduates of Human Movement Studies and was the first to provide structured exercise programs for the general population as well as the elite sports people.


During that time he completed his degree in Human Movement Studies at the University of Queensland. He became particularly interested in the rehabilitation process after seeing many people overcome chronic and acute pain and injuries with regular exercise.


He returned to the University of Queensland and studied his Bachelor of Physiotherapy graduating in 1987 and then completed his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at Griffith University in 1989.

He has worked with Queensland Cricket for 12 seasons, Australian Cricket Team, Zimbabwe and Sri Lankan Cricket teams and since 2014 been physiotherapist with the Papua New Guinea Cricket Teams.

He worked as physiotherapist with the Brisbane Broncos for 10 years and was appointed by Wayne Bennett to establish the QAS rugby league program.


He has also worked many years with the QLD Australian Football League and Tennis Australia. BGS and BBC rugby, Brisbane City Soccer as well as a number of local sporting teams and individual athletes such as Natalie Cook.


Lindsay love of teaching has seen him lecture in anatomy at Griffith and Bond University's.

He works closely with a number of Brisbane orthopaedic surgeons including Dr Michael Lutz (Foot and Ankle), Dr Kelly MacGroarty (Knee, Shoulder and Sports Injury), Dr Geoff Donald (Orthopaedic Surgeon) and Dr Dale Rimmington (Orthopaedic Surgeon)


Matteo Amabile

Physiotherapist

Matteo has been a member of our team for over 8 years, providing high-quality physiotherapy treatment for a wide range of orthopedic, sporting and musculoskeletal conditions.


He has completed degrees in Human Movement Studies (QUT), Physiotherapy (Bond University) and is about to graduate with a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy (Latrobe).


Matteo strives to ensure every patient achieves their optimal outcome through exercise prescription and manual therapy, guided by his experience and the latest evidence. Matteo has also done extra training in dry needling and offers this as part of an extended treatment plan.


Matteo has provided physiotherapy coverage for a number of sporting teams and organizations including Brisbane Grammar School (First XI football), Redland Bombers (NEAFL), and QAS Rugby League. He is currently involved in Sherwood Districts AFC and he continues to tour with the Cricket PNG senior men’s team.

ISABELLE McKEWEN

Physiotherapist

Isabelle graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Class 1 Honours in 2021.


Isabelle comes to the clinic with a passion about sports injuries and recovery. She completed her studies while training and competing as an elite athlete Ice Figure Skater. Isabelle understands the importance of working with an athlete and their team to develop a tailored treatment and recovery plan to return to sport.


Her approach to injury management includes individual exercise-based rehabilitation and manual therapy to promote recovery and injury prevention. She enjoys assisting all people on their journey to recovery and achieving patient goals.

CODY FULLARTON

Exercise Physiologist

Cody is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist, a Level 2 ASCA Coach and he also has a Masters in Sports Coaching through the University of Queensland. Cody has been seeing his Exercise Physiology clients at Spring Hill for over 15 years and has more recently set up a second location at Dittmer Park, Upper Mt Gravatt.


Watch this space for our latest location at the beautiful Sherwood Magpies AFC in Chelmer coming in mid 2022.

Cody has worked closely with a team of physiotherapists for over a decade and thus has a strong understanding of injury pathology, rehabilitation and prevention.


He has been involved in a number of sports in various roles including being High Performance Manager at AFL QLD. Cody is currently the head of strength and conditioning at the Sherwood Magpies AFC, South Brisbane District Cricket Club and Lifetime Tennis. He has also held this role at the Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club, Mt Gravatt Vultures AFC and was involved with the Redland Bombers in the NEAFL for 7 years.


Cody played First Grade Rugby League for Ipswich Jets and Easts in the QRL from a young age and is an avid golfer.


ZACH

Exercise Physiologist

Zach is an ESSA accredited Exercise Physiologist, graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) at the University of Queensland. Zach is currently Head of High Performance at Mount Gravatt AFC, with a passion for musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation and prevention, and the management of neurological conditions.


He is a firm advocate for the role of exercise as a management tool for chronic health conditions, and years spent battling his own sporting injuries have consolidated a love for injury prevention and a strong desire to improve quality of life for all. Zach has a love for sport, having been involved in various sporting codes, and representing Queensland in cricket from a young age.


His true passion for helping people was discovered in Zach's final year of University, when he completed his Honours' project in the effects of exercise on measures of wellbeing in individuals living with Cerebral Palsy.


When not in the clinic, Zach will either be found in the gym or on the golf course.

SAMMI SHEEHAN

Massage Therapist

Diploma of Sports & Remedial Massage & Personal Trainer

(Member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia and AUSactive)


Sammi graduated in 2013 from the Australian Institute of Fitness and Q Academy with her Fitness and Personal Training Certificates and Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy.


Sammi finished studying in Brisbane before opening her own successful business in Longreach QLD. 'Sammi's Fresh Fitness' offered HIIT, Pilâtes, Yoga, Boxing and Bootcamps, alongside Sports & Remedial Massage.

2022 has seen Sammi decide to return to Brisbane to expand her business opportunities.


Having a sporting background, Sammi has a great understanding of the stresses the body undergoes in sport. Her treatments assist in the release of tension and stress, also aiding the breaking down and eliminating of toxins and enhancing oxygenation of the brain and relaxing the nervous system and mind.


With her bubbly personality, Sammi's passion is working with her clients to help them achieve and maintain their best results.


MARIA FRAMPTON

Massage Therapist

Maria has been in the fitness Industry for over 20 years. In this time she

was the co-owner of a successful Fitness centre, working as a Fitness

Instructor and Trainer and also massage therapist. Maria was a competitor

in Figure and Fitness competitions winning the QLD Division 2 years

running as well as coming 4th in the Australian title.


Maria enjoys learning and continuing to develop her skills to better help her

clients. As a massage therapist she uses a variety of techniques to cater to

each individual's needs as well as including active stretching. She finds it

very rewarding to help others feel better.


Massage has so many benefits for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual

wellbeing. Pain relief from sore muscles, increased flexibility, relaxation,

mental clarity, improved circulation, sports recovery and injury prevention.


Maria’s passion shows through in her personality she is compassionate,

happy and bubbly.
